Holy crap! What an experience! I still don’t quite know what to say except that parasailing might just be my new favorite thing and that I definitely want to go again. I wish I could have taken a camera up with me because there aren’t a lot of words to describe the view of Lake George from 300+ feet in the air. Seeing an unobscured 360-degree view of the lake and the surrounding mountains is just breathtaking.

Our “flight” was at 2 pm and we went out with seven other people. It was great because you were still on the boat as each group took a flight. Our crew was funny, professional and extremely tan. Two groups went before us: three adults and a mom and her two kids. One of the kids, she was probably only 6, had a full arm cast and couldn’t wait to get hooked up. Apparently she’d already been parasailing once and loved it, little daredevil.
| And we're up! |
We were out on the water for about an hour total and each group was up in the air for probably 15 minutes (the advertised time in the air was 8-10 minutes). There’s not really a whole lot to say other than it’s surprisingly comfortable and relaxing. I never once felt afraid and didn’t feel the ever present vertigo that shadows me with heights. The entire time we were in the air was smooth and much quieter than I anticipated.

I would absolutely recommend the experience. At $79 per flight and $25 for the pictures, it’s not cheap… but it’s 100% worth it. Here’s the company we went with… http://www.parasailingadventures.com/index.html
I’m so glad this was my first official check off of my 30/30 list! And thanks so much to Rosey and Luis for a fantastic afternoon!
